As Sweden is known for its pop music scene, we’ve decided it’s time to break that reputation and introduce some much needed diversity into the mix. We want to claim our own underground techno and house scene, with the hopes of creating some of that well-known “Berlin feeling” but with a Swedish twist! So WHY NOT try and change that with a sparkling new festival, dedicated to electronic underground music in Göteborg?
With our first edition of the WHY NOT festival we are aiming to transform Göteborg’s harbor into a two-day electronic music festival, in true Berlin style, from 30th of September to 1st of October 2016. WHY NOT is a new concept in the tradition of Mythos and Secret Island Nation Festival. Together with Musikverket, Goethe-Institut Schweden and many others, WHY NOT generously offers an international line-up not only consisting of well-established headliners, but even promising rising talents and local heroes.
You can expect an eclectic side-program, nerdy art and some quite surprising deco-efforts. This is just the beginning of your Swedish festival summer.
